Most of Sunday, I spent writing a paper and doing math homework. Later in the day, I went over to Rick and Tracy's(brother and his wife) to watch Ruthie and Joel. Ruthie spent her time out in the garage playing with her toys and friends. Joel spent his time on the couch playing his new pokemon game he got.

Saturday AP tour came though the glasshouse in Pomona. Diana and I didn't have tickets but Amanda did, but I had an idea on how we could get in. I met up with Diana and noticed Bob(i had a class with him, so we kind of know each other from that and the glasshouse) was working the box office. Well as soon as we walked by to see how long the line was bob went to the store next door so I waited for him to come out. When he came out I asked him if he was working wristbands and he replied no so then I asked if there was anyway I could get a ticket and he gave Diana and myself tickets! I thanked him! We were pretty stoked.

The first band up was A Rocket To The Moon. I love this band so much! I thought they did so great. Their setlist was

Dakota
Baby We're Invincible
I'm Not Saying Goodbye
Fear Of Flying
Just Another One
If Only You Knew.

The picture is of Nick Santino of A Rocket To The Moon.

Next up was Hit The Lights. I must say I have heard a lot about them from my friend Michael. I thought they were pretty great too. After them, 3oh!3 was up. I am not a big fan of them at all but amanda likes them. I thought live that they were fun, but I still cant take their music seriously haha. The Maine was up next. I like and dislike the maine at the same time. Their music is cheesy and their singer cant really sing live haha but overall a lot of people loved them!

Amanda and I didnt stay inside for Family Force Five, we decided to hang outside. We got to talk and hang with Jason,Steven, and Nate(D4tc) . Its always nice to run into those guys. Overall, it was a good evening full of friends and fun music,

Friday, I drove down to Amanda's in Rancho Santa Margarita. We went to Dana Point to eat a late lunch/ early dinner at harbor house. It's one of our favorite places to eat. After, we drove around the harbor, had some ice cream and walked around. It was so pretty out! The picture above is of the harbor.
After Dana Point, we went to Newport to some church to check out this band Sleep For Sleepers. We got there when the band before SFS , and whoever they were, we didnt like, they were instrumental, so we hung around outside. We even went into the childrens play area haha. When it was time for SFS I only saw Jamey on stage and was wondering were the other two guys were. Jamey then announced that their drummer had called earlier in the day to say he was quiting the band, but the guys still wanted to play so acoustic it was. I thought Jamey did a really good job for it being a last minute acoustic show.

Wednesday, I spent all day doing math homework, it was not fun. In the evening, I went down to chain to hangout with Amanda, Diana and Cathrine. We only watched the opener,Versaemerge.

They were alright. I just can get past that they sound like paramore and I have been a big fan of paramore since before the whole MTV stuff. Anyway, chain was still fun nonetheless. We saw all the guys in Eye Alaska, Diana and I made friends with some of the bidwell guys, and after we went out to ihop. Def. a good night.

Tuesday, I spent the morning in class and the afternoon with Angelica and Gaby. In the evening Gaby and I went to our friends Amanda and Brian's for dinner. It was yummy and gaby and I def. picked out the right desert(cheesecake and strawberries). It was a good day, but by the time I got home I was not up for homework so i spent my time online talking to friends and then went to bed pretty early haha.

the picture is of my messy computer desk. I should clean it. haha

Sunday, Diana and I were able to go to the glasshouse and see Brent's band Fiasco played. They were pretty good! They have really good stage presence and interaction with the crowd! It was a lot of fun going to the glasshouse again and we even ran into chelsea there! She came out to see her friends in bidwell. After the show we all went out to this place called Corky's in Rancho, it was yummy!

Friday was very uneventful. I went to work in the afternoon and came home and did homework all night. The thing that made my day was a letter from my good friend Christa! I miss her and I hope I can go see her in the near future in Oklahoma and see how her life is out there with school and all.

Today(Thurday), Amanda, Diana and I woke up around 530am after going to bed at almost 3am. We went to In N Out with the guys of Confide and Blessthefall after the show and didnt get back to the hotel until 130am or so, pretty good night! Anyway, we left so early because I had to be home by 2pm to be at work at 230pm! Yes, we made it home by 1:15pm! The drive didnt seem too long, even though it was. The picture above is of the California sign you see when your coming into the state from Arizona!

Amanda, Diana and I went out to Tucson, Arizona on Wednesday to see Blessthefall and Confide. Let me just say Confide was amazing. I really dig what they are doing with their music. The picture above is of Ross their singer/screamer/vocalist or whatever you want to call him! He is awesome and his lyrics are just soooooo good. This is the last time we will see them for a few months because they are on tour now! I already miss them!(PS we met Joel, their new drummer! He is pretty nice. Also, it was great to see Billy and Joshua Paul again!). The picture below is of Jeff, I really liked it. haha
The headerliner of the show wednesday night was Blessthefall, one of the main reasons we went out! They did great. Seriously, their fans are just crazy! They are constantly trying to grab Beau(vocals). Everyone loves him. Their set was really good. Oh and this time around Beau decided that it was Eric's(guitar) birthday not Jared's(Bass). Beau then asked who wanted to give him a birthday kiss and pulled a girl from the crowd! After that he told the crowd that anyone who wanted to give him a birthday kiss to get up on stage and do it. So many girls went up there. We just laughed because it wasnt his birthday and we thought it was stupid how girls were going up there! The picture below is of Beau!

Today has been long. I am going on three hours of sleep but last night was just so fun that I am okay being exhausted. haha.

I went to my 8am class, it was canceled which was awesome because that gave me more time to study for my math quiz! I think I did good on it.

I got Beau a gameboy color and tetris for tour this past weekend.(amanda got him a straightner!). He is going to love it! =)

Sunday, oh sunday. It took be an hour to get to chain reaction because of an accident on the 57 south before brea in the hills. oh well.

This Providence and The Academy Is played chain. It was an acoustic show. They sounded pretty great but Ill admit I got bored. I dont know what it is but i tend to get bored at acoustic shows haha. oh well.

It was a crazy night. Demi Lovato, Nick Santino<3 and Jac Vanek were all there. awww nick, amanda and I kept saying that every time we saw him. he is just adorable. Also brandon and cameron were there. It was really nice seeing Brandon, it had been so long since I saw him last. Pretty much everyone I love to see and hang with were at chain that night. It was a pretty good night.

Saturday Morning I woke up to a text from Diana! She was at the starbucks a block from my house so I told her to come over. We ended up going to APU to check out Bidwell and Kevin's Band Theoria.

Robert was also at APU filming bidwell so it was nice seeing him. He is a pretty cool person. Bidwell did alright. The stage was small(if you could even call it a stage) and the singer messed up a few times. The band just stode there too. I was not very impressed with their performance considering i have seen them when they WERE good live. haha.
Kevin talked Diana and I into staying for their set(i wanted to go pick up something for beau) and I am glad I did. I really think they did the best out of the two other bands we saw(we didnt stay for the last band). They really took what they had in front of them to their advantage. They only had their drummer on the stage and kevin and his friends moved around, rocked out etc. They were pretty awesome. =)

Friday night, Amanda and I went to see my friends in Down For The Count at University High School in Irvine. I have to say, whoever put this benefit show(which was for invisible children-i support this cause) together did not do a very good job at all. I think there were about 60 students/kids there max! We made it in time for the last two or three songs of D4tc set. They did alright. I think they could have used the stage more to their advantage, but whatever I guess. ha.

After, Amanda and I went to Harbor House in Dana Point, we realized a lot of people that night were really mad. hahaha

Wednesday, it finally all set in. I am sick. I hate it. I felt like crap all day. I even left my math class early because I just wasnt able to focus. Oh and in my career/life planning class(before math) I kept coughing and everyone kept looking at me. I spent the rest of the morning in bed finishing math homework and my boss at work let me off a little early. I spent the rest of the evening in bed trying to rest.

Nick Santino has my Heart. HAHAHA
Seriously, he writes the cutest music. I love it. Amanda, Mellyza and I went to the smartpunk warehouse this afternoon to catch a free acoustic show nick(ARTTM) and the Maine were doing. Nick and Justin were so good. It was nice seeing nick play acoustic again, since he got signed he has had a band haha so back to the old roots was rad. The maine was cool, but i have seen them too many times live and their fans annoy me way too much to even care.

Oh and the fan girls for john o were crazzzzzzzy. i felt so bad for him, they were surrounding him and wanting pictures and to talk to their friends on their phones etc. fans like that are just nuts and weird.

Friday night Amanda and I went to see Confide. The place they played at had no stage and we were in the very front. We went flying across the stage a few times because people kept pushing us. haha. The best part was when billy decided to imitate us and how we looked when he saw us while he was playing. This picture is of Joshua Paul, the guitarist of Confide. He is so sweet! Its funny because Amanda and i were laughing and imitating on how low he gets down sometimes when he plays. It was such a great show, I love seeing Confide.

Thursday, I was so exhausted and was probably home for no more then 5 minutes the entire day. I ended up going to Chain Reaction with Amanda to see A Cursive Memory and Automatic Love Letter. ACM was fun but it seemed their fans were kind of boring, they all just stood there. I have never understood why if people liked a band so much and went to see them live why they would just stand there. Wouldnt you want to dance around and sing along? Anyway, after they played Automatic Love Letter was next. First off, I have heard a few songs briefly by them and didnt really dig juliet's voice so seeing them live was whatever to me. The band overall was pretty good and juliet has a pretty good voice on some songs but there were songs i didnt really like because of her voice. Overall though they were too band live.

Two side stories from the night:
1) Amanda and I were sitting on the bench inside Chain and this guy walked by, stops looks at us and I see Amanda looking so I turned around and
the guy says "Didnt I meet you the other night?"
me: "uhhhh"
him:"yeah you were wearing an Eye Alaska sweater right? At the Panima show"
me"uhhh"
Amanda:" Yeah Yeah that was her!"
It was funny because I couldnt remember him but Amanda figures it was me because of the sweater and because I talk to just about anyone when I am at chain haha.

2) Amanda and I are watching a band try to back out their trailer and van to leave, they were being too successful, I turn around and Collin from ACM was there looking at me and says" Were you waiting to take a picture with me?" I told him that I wasnt and he told me that my phone looked like a camera and that now he felt like he was consided because he asked me. hahaha. we then made fun of him for it the rest of the night.

Tuesday night, I finally got a new cell phone! My mom got me the Samsung Glyde. I love it, its touch screen but there is a keyboard that slides out from that. its awesome. This picture was taken Wednesday morning on my new phone while I was in my car waiting to go to class at 8am.

So after the Panima show at Chain Reaction all of us (Amanda,Gaby,Diana, Mellyza) went to Harbor House off pch right by Fearless Records(still saturday night but technically march 1st haha). We got a table in the back out on the patio. I am pretty sure we were the loudest ones there. because we were all dying of laughter from THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID comments. I ordered the Ceasar Chicken salad and it's pretty amazing. yummm. good times. good friends.

02/28/09

I only got about 2-3 hours of sleep from friday night. Amanda and I decided we would not go see confide in canoga park because it was just too far for being so tired. Instead, gaby, diana, amanda, mellyza and I decided to hit up the Panima Show at chain reaction because it was Panima's last show as a band.

The only band I caught before Panima played was Lorene Drive- one of my favorites. Their set was great as always. I dont think I have seen this band play a terrible set. Their very solid muscians. A lot of kids knew who they were and loved seeing them. Lorene Drive played Lip Service, Let It go, and even "slowed" their set down with their song A kiss Won't Make This Better. The band even played their new song American Spirit. You can check out a video of it here.Their closing song was A Song In The Key Of Sex and the singer jokinly said no it was really in the key of e. Pretty much all the kids who knew this band knew this closing song and they went nuts, its a fan favorite and def a favorite on mine also. During the middle of the song Lorene Drive had their dummer do a solo and man it was great. This band has a lot going for them and I really think they could far with the right people on their side.

The picture posted for project 365 is of the david, the singer of Panima. It was a exciting, fun, yet sad night for this band- this show was to be their last show before the break up. The crowd was nuts for them and they guys in between songs kept telling everyone how appreciative they were of everything that had happened and how far they had come as a band. They played a pretty great songs and played many fan favorites such as Act Of Change , Dreams, You , and Wake Up. It may have been a sad night to see this band leave the scene but they made their mark and their last show was great. RIP panima.

02/27/09

Friday, I went to see Venus Infers at the glass house and The Higher at chain reaction.

Venus Infers had such a great set and there were a good amount of people there considering they were second on the setlist of about 6 bands or so. Their new material is really good. If you didn't know it, you would think this band is from the UK british area. Their sound is similar to bands such as Kings of Leon. Venus Infers may sound like they are from overseas but they are from the oc area and if you haven't checked them out already , do so, their music will blow you away.

I don't have a picture from The Higher show at chain reaction because I was just too excited to see them again! I got to chain about five minutes before they went on. The guys came out and opened the set with their new cover song, Closer by Ne-Yo, which by the way was excellent. This band has such great stage prescense live. They played many favorites such as Insurance, Weapons Wired and Rock My Body. A highlight of the night was when The Higher played Diaries from their Histrionics cd. When the band started playing and Seth sang the lyrics "I'm gonna give it away to you!" the crowd went crazy and was so loud! Also the guys played a few new songs off their upcoming record(out in june seth said), one I had already heard on their last tour they were on. I was blown away again by their set and have decided that you can NEVER see The Higher TOO many times live. =)
